My Practice
I do my best to be open and direct about my policies and procedures. I welcome any questions you might have about these policies.
Fees
- Initial intake (45 minutes): individual – $265; couples – $295
- 45-minute session: individual – $240; couples – $265
- 60-minute session: individual – $355; couples – $375
Letter writing and other extra administrative work:
- $265 per hour, billed in 10-minute increments
Fees will be reviewed on an annual basis.
Payments
Payment is due in full at time of service, payable by credit card (Mastercard, Visa, Discover, and American Express). I will gladly accept payment from credit cards connected to your tax deferred account (e.g., Health Savings Account (HSA), Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRA). However, this will need to be in addition to a primary card, as federal regulations prohibit me from using a tax deferred card for a short notice cancellation and missed appointment.
Insurance
I do not accept insurance. However, many plans provide out-of-network benefits, and I encourage you to explore this with your own provider. I am happy to provide you with a statement that you can use for your own reimbursement.
Confidentiality
Confidentiality is your legal right to keep our discussions private. You need to be aware of those circumstances when your information may be shared. I can share your information with your health care providers, or if there is a risk that you or someone else may come to harm, or that a child, disabled, or elderly person is being neglected. If required by a court of law, regulations may mandate me to work to prevent this harm even if it compromises your confidentiality.

Late Cancelations and Missed Sessions
Appointment times are reserved for you in advance. A minimum of 2 business days (48 hours) notice for cancelations is required. Monday appointments need to be canceled by 5 pm the preceding Thursday.
Appointments that are canceled or missed without 2 business days (48 hours) notice will be charged at the full session rate.
Likewise, frequent cancelations to a regular meeting schedule that we’ve established make it difficult for us to meet your therapeutic goals, as well as challenging for me to avoid empty spots in my schedule. When you enter therapy, we are making a mutual commitment to accountability. I have a limited number of available appointments in my schedule each week and one is being reserved for you.

Emergency Coverage
Although I will make every attempt to return phone calls and emails in a timely manner, I am not always immediately available in case of emergency. Most often my phone is set on Do Not Disturb, so If it’s a critical mater please call 617-470-5404 two times in a row, and it will break through the Do Not Disturb feature so I can answer.
All emergencies should be handled by the nearest hospital emergency department. If I can be of assistance in an emergency, please call 617-470-5404 two times in a row to contact me. If you are hospitalized, please have them contact me so I’m informed of the situation.
